I bring over 500 hours of teaching experience from a background in Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin yoga. My teaching is deeply informed by my live-in ashram training through the Sivananda Ashram in South India, an immersive experience that strengthened my connection to the roots of yoga and the path of Bhakti. Living and practising in an ashram environment grounded yoga for me as a way of life, not just something that happens on the mat.
My teaching philosophy centres on creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive space where students of all levels can explore their practice, cultivate mindfulness, and connect with their bodies in a way that feels empowering, accessible, and enjoyable. Yoga philosophy has always been at the heart of my journey — it was what first drew me to yoga at the age of 10, and it continues to unfold and deepen as a lifelong practice. I love weaving philosophical insights into my classes in a way that feels embodied and relevant to everyday life.
I’m particularly passionate about Yin Yoga and its therapeutic benefits, drawing on Chinese Medicine’s Five Element Theory and Taoist philosophy. Through meridian-based practices, we work to harmonise the five elements within the body, supporting a greater sense of balance, vitality, and connection to the natural world we are part of. These ancient systems deeply inform how I hold space and guide students back into remembrance of their own nature.
I truly embrace yoga as a path toward self-realisation and liberation. I’m inspired by the four traditional paths of yoga — Bhakti (devotion), Jnana (wisdom), Karma (selfless action), and Raja (meditation) — and I endeavour to live and teach yoga as an integrated daily practice, not just a physical one. This integration naturally flows into my classes, where movement, breath, philosophy, and presence meet.
Bhakti Yoga has been a particularly strong influence in my life. I have spent many years following devotional practices and have developed a deep love for Kirtan — the chanting of sacred Vedic mantras. It’s a practice I cherish and love sharing whenever and wherever I can, as a way of opening the heart and returning to devotion through sound.
Off the mat, I’m an Empowerment Coach and Traditional Japanese Reiki Teacher, offering compassionate, nervous-system-aware support to guide people back toward themselves in a sustainable, grounded, and joyful way.
